June 2008

The Joshua Tree Fine Furniture were pleased to enter a team into a charity golf day held at Sandmoor golf club, north Leeds. The day was hosted by Joe Hester of MJ Hester and all proceeds went to the youths of the Diocese of Leeds, in aid of world youth day. This is a pilgrimage, this year held in Sydney where youth from all over the world convene. The highlight will be an open air mass said by the Pope. It is because of days like this and other charitable donations that the diocese of Leeds were able to send one of the largest group of pilgrims from the UK.

Its all change for The Joshua Tree. After four years trading in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. We are now moving to larger, more picturesque premises (converted farm buildings) near Malton in N. Yorkshire. The move will enable us to serve our existing customers with more efficiency, as well as making our services available to a new selection of local clients.

The Joshua Tree Fine Furniture has completed an order to supply chairs to St Annes Cathedral, Leeds. The chairs are made from European Oak and will be used on the sanctury as and when required.

They were designed by Richard Williams of 'Buttress, Fuller, Alsop, Williams' Architects in Manchester. The chairs form a small part of what has been a very successful restoration and re-ordering of the city's Cathedral.

The Joshua Tree are very proud to be commissioned to make two identical walnut display cases for Barnsley Town Hall. The cases are a little larger than your average piece of furniture, being twelve feet tall! The cabinets have taken pride of place in the main staircase area.
